I Hate Telemarketers!

I have a confession. I can't stand getting phone calls from telemarketers. I hate it! So, last night, I get this call from my local telephone company, and it's a telemarketer trying to sell me a long distance plan.

First of all, I was in the middle of dinner. Of course I was! I only answered the phone because it was sitting right next to me and I wanted it to stop ringing.

This very nice boy starts to tell me about this great long distance plan I can get for $32.99 per month, with unlimited calling to anyone in the U.S. I really tried to be nice and listen, but like I said, I hate getting these phone calls! I was about two seconds from hanging up on him.

But instead I let him finish and after he asked me to sign up, I said, "Let me ask you this. Would you rather pay $32.99 a month for long distance calls or would you rather get them for free?"

He was stumped. He replied, "How do you think you are going get long distance calls for free?"
